📣 Are you new to using a computer or are self-taught and want to learn what you don’t know?
📣 Do you want to become more confident with using a computer and Microsoft Windows?
Our 5.5 hour workshop is designed for those with little or no previous experience using a computer and would like the opportunity to learn more and become a confident computer and Windows 11 user.  You will walk away from this workshop feeling confident to navigate and customise Microsoft Windows 11, including how to use a pen drive, zip files and some of Windows favourite apps. Learn how to browse the internet using Chrome & Edge, including customising to become more efficient.  Now we are in the AI era, you will learn how to use ChatGPT to take your skills and innovation to a new level. Then finishing off the day learning the basics of our favourite Microsoft apps, Word, Excel & Outlook, and let’s not forget the most important part, good computer and internet security practices.
This is a hands-on practical workshop. You will be required to bring your own device, ideally with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word & Excel). If you are unable to bring your own device, please let us know prior to the workshop and we will arrange one for you. Please note the workshop is taught using Microsoft Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 365, therefore, there might be some slight differences.
Pre-Requisite: None
You will learn:
- Logging on, sleep vs lock, restarting, powering off and basic problem solving with task manager when either not responding or locking up
- How to use the keyboard and mouse
- How to navigate and customise Windows 11, including
- Desktop
- Windows start
- File explorer
- Taskbar
- System tray
- Notifications
- Date & time
- Using a pen drive and zip files
- Short cuts
- How to browse the internet, including:
- Customise Chrome/Edge
- Bookmarks/shortcuts
- Downloading & saving
- How to use classic windows apps, such as:
- Calculator
- Snipping tool
- How to use ChatGPT
- Basics of Microsoft Applications, such as:
- Outlook – emails
- Word – word processing
- Excel - spreadsheeting
- Good computer and internet security, with a handout
DURATION: 5.5 hours – includes lunch and refreshments, a PDF of shortcuts and a security handout (please note: we do not cater to specific dietary requirements, therefore, if you have a dietary requirement you will need to arrange your own lunch).

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:
(a) Cancellations 10 days or more prior to the Workshop will attract a 5% cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 10 days prior to the Workshop will attract a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 2 days prior to the Workshop are non-refundable.
(b) We reserve the right to postpone or cancel a Workshop (e.g. due to insufficient registrations) in which case we will offer you an alternative workshop date or a full refund of all registration fees.
